Amy Proctor picOur 3 kids trained with Jeff throughout the fall, winter, and spring, while they were playing their club sports. During this time, we had no injuries, which is unusual! Jeff told us how he takes a “movement first” approach which reduces injury and speed and strength would follow. That alone makes it worth it! Plus my kids loved the trainings. Jeff was encouraging and increased their confidence in themselves. They were pumped up when they were able to do things they didn’t know they could do at the training sessions which carried over to their sports.! Mary plays club volleyball and lacrosse. She is a setter in volleyball, and we saw noticeable improvement in her speed to the ball, getting her body to the right place quicker and under more control. She is a defender in lacrosse, and we also saw more speed in her play. She was better able to move her body and line up with players. She was a thin 11 year old when Jeff started working with her and she is now stronger, with defined muscles in her legs and arms! Amazing! Jack, 14 is a setter in club volleyball and we saw tremendous increased speed in getting to the ball, and getting his body in the right position to make a good set. There were nearly zero times in which he wasn’t able to get to the second ball and had to ask for help. He was also stronger physically to jump higher, swing stronger, and set better. Clare,16 plays soccer and Jeff showed her how to use her entire body more effectively to make quicker bursts to the ball, and to have more balance so that she does not get knocked off of the ball. Clare’s leg muscles, which were already pretty big, are so incredibly strong and muscular now! Her core is so much stronger, too. Jeff had a huge impact on Clare’s confidence in herself as an athlete. Amy Proctor

WENDY-PINTA-GALLAPOO_smI believe that involving Fit2Play in my lacrosse team’s pre-season training was a real turning point for our program. First, players developed strength that helped them in all aspects of their game. It convinced players that muscular strength improves their performance on the field. Developing stabilizing muscles and focusing on core work enabled players to regain their balance quickly, move and accelerate quickly, and helped to reduce injuries. The in-season workouts that were primarily based on agilities and footwork developed players’ proper running techniques which not only made them run faster, but more efficiently. Footwork, core strength, and speed training are essential skills in lacrosse which had been overlooked prior to Fit2Play’s involvement in our program. I thought that conditioned players simply could run long distances. Now, we emphasize core strength, dynamic warm-ups, and sprint work to prepare our athletes for competition. I feel that the skills and techniques Fit2Play brought to our program has made our team one of the strongest, best-conditioned teams in Ohio. It’s not a coincidence that our team has won seven state titles since participating in Fit2Play and changing our training strategy. Furthermore, my athletes often comment that they are well-prepared for Division 1 programs because their high school training is compatible to their college training. When I went into retirement, a lot of it was my life was changing with my new family, but a part of it was the feeling my body was past its prime…that I couldn’t keep up with the young kids anymore. That has changed dramatically since I started working out with you. All of the things you preached to me and we worked on day in and day out (speed, agility, quickness, balance, coordination, flexibility, strength and power) were improved upon to the point where I knew I could compete again at a high level. I could not have helped the Kickers break their record for most shutouts in a season (it was 9, we had 13) earn 1st Team All A-League, A-League Defender of the Year, and be offered contracts by DC United, Dallas Burn, and a long-term from the Kickers without your knowledge and motivation. In many ways, I was lucky to have a good coach and a good team in Richmond, but there is no doubt in my mind your contribution to my success this season is more than all of the other factors combined and then some. I have always worked hard in the off-season, but this year you helped work smarter. You are the best I’ve come across, and you deserve all of the success you will ever receive.
